Kazakhstan hopes to boost investment in mineral resources by installing national info-bank

In Kazakhstan, work is underway to create an information system "National mineral data bank", said the Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Zhenis Kasymbek, at a meeting of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

"In the field of geology and subsoil use, the ministry jointly with Kazgeology JSC is implementing a project to create and introduce an information system "National mineral data bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan." It will consolidate reports, mineral reserves balances, field passports, data on the territory’s exploration and other geological information," said Kasymbek.

According to him, in addition to ensuring order in the industry, this system will increase the level of investment.

“In order to ensure the growth of investments in the industry, the principle of "single window" is being introduced to simplify access to subsoil use processes. As a result of the project implementation, the number of automated functions will be at least 12. In general, investments in an exploration of solid minerals in the amount of at least 96 billion tenge are expected,” added Kasymbek.
