This project, unprecedented in the industry, was announced by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Kazakhstan as an annual key event for the country’s mining and metallurgy industry.
More than 1,000 people will take part in the two major events on the Mining & Metallurgy Days’ agenda – the 3rd Astana Mining & Metallurgy International Congress (AMM 2012) and the 3rd Congress of Mining and Metallurgy Industry Workers.
The concept of the Kazakhstan Mining and Metallurgy Days meets the basic objectives of the Government’s industrial and innovation policies aimed to increase competitive exports and make high added-value products, implement innovative designs and provide high-quality training of industry personnel who are supposed to bring Kazakhstan’s metallurgy and mining to prominence.
Day One will feature the 3rd Astana Mining & Metallurgy International Congress (AMM 2012). The Congress offers a platform open for discussions of strategic problems encountered by Kazakhstan’s mining and metallurgy industry and of international partnerships. The key topic of the forum is Exploration. Production. Processing. The Congress’s agenda includes a plenary session and three panels sessions: for geologists, miners, and metallurgists. Speeches are planned by over 20 speakers from Kazakhstan, Australia, the United Kingdom, Canada, Russia, and Turkey. Business owners and government representatives from leading global mining powers, ambassadors of participating countries, industry associations, and international mining and metallurgy companies will participate in АММ 2012 Congress. The event’s significance is endorsed by an impressive range of АММ 2012 Congress sponsors: KazZinc as Diamond Sponsor, ENRC and ArcelorMittal as Gold Sponsors, Altyntau as Silver Sponsor, and WorleyParsons Kazakhstan as Bronze Sponsor. Air Astana is the official air carrier.
