UFI confirms a twofold rise in visitor numbers at the Astana Mining and Metallurgy event

UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, has this week confirmed the independent audit of the Astana Mining and Metallurgy congress and announced that the event has been awarded UFI ‘Approved Event’ status. According to official statistics, 1,803 industry professionals visited AMM 2012, double the amount of visitors of the previous year (930).

AMM, the largest congress and exhibition event dedicated to mining and metallurgy in Kazakhstan, takes place annually in Astana from 4 to 6 June and is timed to coincide with Astana Day and the Kazakhstan Mining and Metallurgy Days. AMM is organised by Iteca and ITE Group and officially partnered by the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Boris Danilenko, Sales Director of Iteca: “This is our 10th exhibition event to have received UFI ‘Approved Event’ status. It is especially pleasing that this anniversary of sorts is also official confirmation of AMM’s growth in both quantity (visitor and exhibitor numbers) and in quality. Judging by general delegate and exhibitor opinion confirmed by surveys and telemarketing, AMM has established itself as the main industry venue for open discussion of strategic problems faced by Kazakhstan’s mining and metallurgy industry and of prospects for international partnership.”

UFI ‘Approved Event’ status testifies to the high organisational level of an event and its influence on business development and shaping the industry, as well as confirming its statistical reliability. UFI awards its certification based on annual audits of exhibition events.

Boris Danilenko: “We are actively pursuing a policy of information transparency and honest competition. It is noteworthy that two of our mining and metallurgy events have now received UFI ‘Approved Event’ status - the MiningWorld Central Asia exhibition in Almaty, and AMM in Astana. MiningWorld Central Asia is the largest exhibition in this area in Kazakhstan and Central Asia.”

A significant number of exhibitions and fairs are held in Kazakhstan, and at Iteca, we believe that transparency and accuracy are important ways to attract new exhibitors and professional visitors and to increase the trust of international partners.

Notes to editors:

UFI was founded in 1925 and today consists of over 600 member organisations from 85 countries. Exhibition organisations and other organisations are part of UFI. UFI ‘Approved Event’ status has been awarded to 827 trade and industrial exhibitions.

ITE Group has been a member of UFI since 2002. In 2005, Iteca became the first Kazakhstani exhibition company to undergo an international audit of its exhibitions.
