AMM 2026: GLOBAL PARTNERSHIP, INNOVATION, AND NEW HORIZONS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE MINING AND METALLURGICAL COMPLEX
ON JUNE 11–12, 2026, ASTANA WILL ONCE AGAIN BECOME THE CENTER OF INTERNATIONAL DIALOGUE FOR THE MINING AND METALLURGICAL INDUSTRY.
During these days, the capital of Kazakhstan will host the 16th International Mining and Metallurgical Congress Astana Mining & Metallurgy – AMM 2026. For more than fifteen years, the AMM Congress has served as a key platform for strengthening cooperation between government and business, fostering international collaboration, and advancing strategic initiatives in the fields of subsoil use, metallurgy, and industrial production.
Traditionally, AMM 2026 comprises the Congress and an exhibition showcasing unique developments and solutions from leading manufacturers in the mining and metallurgical sector. This year, the exhibition will bring together 69 companies from 15 countries — Australia, Canada, China, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Kazakhstan, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Sweden, the United States, and Uzbekistan.
The exhibition clearly demonstrates the growing interest of international businesses in the Kazakhstan market and its role in the global raw materials and industrial agenda. Of the total number of participants, 40 companies represent Kazakhstan, while 29 are international exhibitors. In addition, 36 companies will participate in the exhibition for the first time, reflecting the expanding international presence and the continuous renewal of technological solutions presented at the AMM platform.
The exhibition will cover a wide range of areas — from geological exploration, mining, and mineral processing to industrial automation, digital technologies, artificial intelligence, environmental and industrial safety, logistics, machinery manufacturing, and engineering services.
In 2026, the Congress will bring together approximately 1,500 delegates from 16 countries, including Belgium, Canada, China, the European Union, France, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Sweden, the UAE, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The program will feature 21 thematic sessions and 3 specialized industry forums with the participation of more than 190 internationally recognized speakers. Major international delegations representing government agencies, industry associations, and leading companies have confirmed their participation in the Congress. These include delegations from the European Commission, Canada, China, Saudi Arabia, Sweden, and the United States.
The main theme of the AMM 2026 Plenary Session will be: “From the Depths to the Heights of Intelligence: Global Partnership for the Future of the Mining and Metallurgical Complex”. Participants will focus on issues related to technological modernization of the industry, international cooperation, development of critical minerals supply chains, implementation of advanced digital solutions, and strengthening the investment attractiveness of the mining and metallurgical sector.
Particular attention within the business program will be devoted to the development of international cooperation. Among the key events are the U.S.–Kazakhstan Country Roundtable, the Closed Governmental meeting EU–Kazakhstan, Canada’s Country Panel, and a specialized workshop on critical minerals.
The business program of the first day will cover a broad range of industry topics, including the sessions “Investment Climate and Regulatory Environment”, “Metal Trading in a High-Volatility Environment: Managing Price Risks”, “Eurasia Minerals: Strategies For Attracting Financing in the Mining and Metals Industry”, “Unlocking the Potential of Critical Minerals: From Resources to Investment Projects”, “Taxation in the Mining and Metallurgical Complex”, as well as “Geological Exploration: Will a Technological Breakthrough Be the Answer to Key Challenges?”.
Special attention will also be paid to the legalization and development of artisanal mining, discussed within a dedicated session, as well as to transport and logistics integration through the session “Transport and Logistics in Mining and Metallurgy: Central Asia’s Integration into Global Supply Chains”.
The second day of the Congress, June 12, will focus on the technological transformation of the industry. A key highlight will be the session “Artificial Intelligence in Mining and Processing – Practical Cases and Implementation Challenges”. Significant attention will also be devoted to mineral processing and the development of higher value-added metallurgy through the sessions “Processing and Metallurgy: Transition to Higher Value-Added Stages” and “Advanced Solutions for Mineral Raw Materials Processing”.
The second-day program will also feature the Gold Mining Forum of Kazakhstan, the Coal Forum, and the Congress of Jewelers of Kazakhstan, as well as sessions on geomechanical process management, the PR meeting “Media Image of the Mining & Metallurgical Industry: Who Benefits from a Strong Reputation?”, and the GR Meet Up.
A significant place in the Congress program is occupied by the National Industry Competition “Golden Hephaestus”, which annually recognizes the best achievements of representatives of Kazakhstan’s mining and metallurgical industry. In 2026, awards will be presented in 15 nominations covering a wide range of professional accomplishments and contributions to the development of the domestic mining and metallurgical complex. The award ceremony will traditionally be one of the most anticipated events for the industry community.
Today, AMM is not only the largest communication platform for Kazakhstan’s mining and metallurgical complex but also a recognized international platform for developing solutions, building new partnerships, and promoting joint initiatives. The Congress contributes to strengthening Kazakhstan’s position as one of the key players in the global mineral resources market and a reliable partner in advancing the global industrial and technological agenda.
