AMM 2026: AN INTERNATIONAL PLATFORM WHERE STRATEGIC DECISIONS AND INNOVATION SHAPE THE FUTURE OF THE GLOBAL MINING AND METALLURGICAL INDUSTRY

ON JUNE 11–12, 2026, ASTANA WILL HOST THE 16TH INTERNATIONAL MINING AND METALLURGICAL CONGRESS ASTANA MINING & METALLURGY 2026 — ONE OF THE KEY INDUSTRY EVENTS IN CENTRAL ASIA, BRINGING TOGETHER REPRESENTATIVES OF THE PUBLIC SECTOR, INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS, INVESTORS, TECHNOLOGY LEADERS, AND THE PROFESSIONAL MINING AND METALLURGICAL COMMUNITY.

For many years, AMM has served as an authoritative professional platform for discussing strategic issues related to the development of the mining and metallurgical industry, strengthening international cooperation, attracting investment, and implementing advanced technological solutions. In 2026, the Congress will continue its mission of fostering a global dialogue between governments, industry, and innovative companies, with a special focus on sustainable development, decarburization, digital transformation, and technological modernization of the sector.

 Exhibition 2026

The AMM 2026 exhibition will bring together more than 70 companies from 15 countries, including Australia, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Kazakhstan, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Sweden, the United States, and Uzbekistan.

The exhibition will showcase a wide range of solutions and technologies for the mining and metallurgical industries. Visitors will be able to explore modern mining equipment for both surface and underground operations, drilling and blasting equipment, heavy machinery, mineral processing and beneficiation solutions, geological exploration and geotechnology solutions, engineering and EPC services, as well as conveyor systems and power equipment. Considerable attention will be given to industry digitalization, with the exhibition featuring software solutions for the mining and metallurgical sector, automation systems, industrial safety technologies, environmental and filtration solutions, laboratory equipment, lubricants, and other advanced developments aimed at improving production efficiency.

This year, AMM will feature national groups from Saudi Arabia, the United States, and Sweden, highlighting the expansion of international industrial partnerships and the development of new areas of cooperation between countries. Among the exhibitors are both globally recognized brands and companies participating in AMM for the first time. Debut exhibitors in 2026 include ABP Engineering, Cummins, David Brown Santasalo, FläktGroup, Hartree Partners, Italimpianti Orafi & Tera Automation, Seequent, XCMG Xugong KZ, and many other international companies presenting advanced solutions in industrial equipment, automation, engineering, digitalization, and environmental technologies for the mining and metallurgical industry.

Special attention should be given to the participation of leading global machinery and equipment manufacturers, including Komatsu and XCMG, which will showcase modern technological solutions for mining and metallurgical enterprises.

 AMM 2026 Congress

The Congress will serve as a large-scale platform for international industry dialogue. Over the course of two days, the Congress venue will host 21 industry sessions and 3 forums featuring approximately 190 international speakers from Kazakhstan, Belgium, Canada, China, France, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Sweden, the UAE, and the United States. The central event of the first day will be the plenary session “From the Depths to the Heights of Intelligence: Global Partnership for the Future of the Mining and Metallurgical Complex”, dedicated to the global competitiveness of the industry, the formation of new critical minerals supply chains, and the impact of artificial intelligence on industrial development.

The session will bring together high-ranking representatives of government institutions, international organizations, and leading industry associations. Confirmed VIP guests include:

Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khorayef – Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Khalid Al-Mudaifer – Vice Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Sergio Gor – Special Representative of the President of the United States for South and Central Asia

David L. Fogel – Assistant Secretary of Commerce, Director General of the U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service (Global Markets), United States Department of Commerce

Valere Moutarlier – Deputy Director-General for Industrial Transformation and Decarbonisation, Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs (DG GROW), European Commission

Diana Janse – State Secretary at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Sweden

Massimo Gasparon – Director of the European Raw Materials Alliance (ERMA)

The AMM 2026 business programme will cover a wide range of strategically important topics, from international cooperation and investment climate to artificial intelligence, critical minerals, logistics, geological exploration, and advanced mineral processing.

June 11: Global Partnership, Investment and Transformation of the Mining and Metallurgical Industry

The thematic sessions of the first day will address key areas of industry development, including the investment climate and regulatory environment, metals trading under conditions of high market volatility and price risk management, taxation in the industry, as well as the transformation of geological exploration and the implementation of investment projects in the critical minerals sector.

Special attention will be devoted to international cooperation. As part of strengthening international partnerships, governmental and B2B meetings with the United States and the European Union will take place. In addition, the United States and Canada will hold dedicated workshops on critical minerals and mining potential. The programme will also include discussions on the transport and logistics integration of Central Asia into global supply chains, the development of the critical minerals market, and issues related to artisanal and small-scale mining.

June 12: Future Technologies, Digitalization and Sustainable Development of the Mining and Metallurgical Industry

The second day of the Congress will focus on the technological transformation of the industry and the implementation of innovation in production processes.

The key discussion will be the session “Artificial Intelligence in Mining and Processing – Practical Cases and Implementation Challenges”, where international experts will present real-world examples of AI applications, robotics, and digital production management systems in the mining and metallurgical industry.

The day's agenda will also focus on mineral processing and metallurgy with a transition to higher-value-added production stages, as well as modern solutions for mineral processing aimed at increasing efficiency and environmental sustainability.

The programme will include the Gold Mining Forum of Kazakhstan, the Coal Forum, the Kazakhstan Jewelers Congress, the PR meeting “The Image of the Mining and Metallurgical Industry in the Media: Who Benefits from a Strong Reputation?”, a GR facilitation session on doing business within the new political architecture, B2B and B2G meetings, as well as an industrial tour of the Qarmet production facilities.

One of the landmark events of AMM 2026 will be the C5+1 format meeting held on the sidelines of the Congress — a high-level dialogue platform between the countries of Central Asia and the United States of America. This further emphasizes Kazakhstan’s role as a key center for international dialogue in the mining and metallurgical industry and as a strategic partner in shaping the new architecture of the global raw materials market.

 National Award “Golden Hephaestus”

On June 11, the best professionals of the mining and metallurgical industry will receive prestigious awards in 15 categories. The competition covers a wide range of nominations, from “Professional of the Year” in geology, metallurgy, and mining to awards for the best social project, achievements in industrial safety, and digital innovation. Such a variety of categories reflects a comprehensive approach to evaluating professional achievements, as well as the importance of innovation and social responsibility in the modern industrial sector. The Year of Working Professions and the Golden Hephaestus Competition reflect Kazakhstan’s commitment to modernization, innovation, and human capital development. The General Partner of the competition is traditionally Eurasian Resources Group (ERG).
