Astana to host Days of Mining and Metallurgical Complex of Kazakhstan

amm-venue ASTANA. June 5. KAZINFORM – On June 12-13 Astana Palace of Independence will host Days of Mining and Metallurgical complex (MMC) of Kazakhstan, the press service of the organizing committee reports.

The event will bring together a number of important industrial events: 4th International Mining and Metallurgical Congress «Astana Mining & Metallurgy» (AMM 2013) and the 4th Congress of MMC Workers. The program also includes the National industrial competition called "Golden Hephaestus", the events dedicated to the professional holiday - the Day of Metallurgist and study tours around the Astana city for delegates.

The Congress will address the topic of technological growth prospects of MMC in times of an unstable global economy. Speakers of the Congress will represent Australia, Great Britain, Germany, China, Kazakhstan, Russia, Turkey and France.

«Astana Mining & Metallurgy» will be attended by 700 delegates from all over Kazakhstan and neighboring countries as well as the members of the participating countries official delegations, ambassadors and representatives of trade missions accredited in Kazakhstan. In the framework of the Congress there will be carried out 1st Kazakhstan Conference on ferrous and non-ferrous metals scrap, panel discussions on the following topics: "Utilization of energy waste gases in the ferroalloy industry," "Advanced solutions for processing of ores and industrial wastes", "A New Era of rare and rare-earth metals" .

On June 13 there will be a presentation of a number of specific initiatives. In particular, the Industrial forum will provide presentations of the Fund of Kazakhstan subsoil users, thematic round tables on the development of human capital in MMC, improvement of the legislation on subsoil.

A separate set of questions will focus on development of social partnership in MMC and the proposals to improve the system of remuneration of MMC employees etc. The Congress of MMC workers will bring together about 400 delegates including heads of mining and metallurgical industries, trade unions, MMC coal industry employees, government agencies, members of the Kazakh Parliament.

The main organizer of the event is the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of Kazakhstan. The organizer of the Congress of MMC workers is the Republican Association of Mining and Metallurgical Enterprises. Iteca, a Kazakhstani exhibition company, together with its international partner ITE GroupPlc (UK) are  responsible for the AMM Congress organization. Official support is given by the Akimat of Astana, "National Welfare Fund" Samruk-Kazyna" JSC and other institutions.
